Ofgem, the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets, examined the operations of the gas and electricity markets for eight months beginning in February 2008 for the purpose of determining the effectiveness of the energy suppliers ten-year-old competitive market and the level of service energy customers are receiving. Energy suppliers are under more scrutiny than usual because of todays extraordinarily high fuel prices.
The switch to a competitive market from an energy monopoly has been quite productive, with customers receiving quality service, decreased fuel prices, and more variety as far as energy package plans. The gas and electricity markets have done a remarkable job thus far, but several aspects of their operations still need concentrated effort if the competitive market is to continue on a positive path.
The Big 6 dominates the domestic gas and electricity markets in Great Britain. These six energy businesses have not been found to engage in unlawful practices such as price fixing, but their overpowering presence tends to restrict the emergence of new gas and electricity companies. Since the beginning of the competitive energy market in 1998, energy businesses other than The Big 6 have entered the market, but the majority of them have exited, leaving only .03 percent of customers receiving service from these new businesses.
The ability to switch between gas and electricity services is one of the benefits domestic and small businesses have with the competitive energy market. Information about changing energy services is obviously available to customers, because 96% of current gas and electricity customers have heard of the option, and of the customers that have decided to switch, more than three-fourths of them reported a satisfactory experience. Even though 96% of customers are aware of their option to switch energy suppliers, only 17% of these customers have actually acted on this option.
Most customers stated that they are fearful of the consequences of making a change and do not believe they have adequate information to make the best selection. Lack of Internet access restricts some customers because they do not have the means to review all the plans and programmes. Actions in the areas of increased customer awareness and an improved switching process are required to address these concerns.
Suppliers of gas and electricity offer competitive prices in order to draw customers to their businesses. Domestic and small business customers have their choice of incentive and reward deals, dual fuel packages, fixed and capped price tariffs, and green energy and energy service deals. In the case of dual fuel offers, customers that are not a part of the gas grid cannot benefit from this special pricing and are consequently charged higher prices for their energy consumption. Some of the lower-priced deals are in effect for limited periods, and customers are sometimes unaware of the pending rate increases.

How do you maximize your site?
By earning some money on each click from displaying Adsense ads on it. Many are now realizing that good money can be made from this source of revenue. Try the simple mathematical computation of multiplying those clicks for every page on your website and you get a summation of earnings equivalent to a monthly residual income with little effort made.
Google Adsense is a fast and easy way for website publishers of all sizes to display relevant and text-based Google ads on their websites content pages and earn money in the process. The ads displayed are related to what your users are looking for on your site. This is the main reason why you can monetize and enhance your content pages using Adsense.
How much you will be earning depends on what the advertisers are willing to pay. It will also depend on the keywords required. If the keywords the advertiser has chosen are in high demand, you could receive more dollars per click. On the other hand, low demand keywords will earn you just a few cents per click.
How can you start making profits using Adsense?
1. Sign up for an Adsense account. It will only take a few minutes of your time.
2. When the site is accepted, you will be receiving a clip code to include in your web pages. You can insert this code on as many pages or web sites that you want. The AdWords will start appearing immediately after.
3. You will be earning a few cents or some dollars per click when someone starts clicking on the AdWords displayed on any of your web pages. Trying to earn false revenues by repetitively clicking on your own ads is a no-no. This will result in a penalty or the possibility of your site being eliminated. The money you have already earned may be lost because of this.
4. View your statistics. Adsense earnings can be checked anytime by logging into your web site account.
Once you got your account working, you may still want to pattern it to the many sites that are earning more money than you are. It is important to note that there are factors affecting how your website will perform and the amount of money it will give you.
It is very common that when a site is earning money, the owner wants to make more out of what they are getting already. It usually takes some time combined with trial and error to attain what you want for your Adsense sites.
Time and some important factors that you can practice and use.
How do you increase your Adsense earnings?
1. Choose one topic per page. It is best to write a content for your page with just a few targeted phrases. The search engine will then serve ads that are more relevant which will then result in higher clickthoughs.
2. Using white space around your ad. This can make your ad stand out from the rest of your page so visitors can spot them easily. There are also other choices of colors you can use, provided by search engines, which can harmonize the color of your ad with the web page color.
3. Test your ad placement. It is recommended to use the vertical format that runs down the side of the web page to get more positive results. You can also try both horizontal and vertical formats for a certain period of time to see which one will give you better results. 4. More content-based pages. Widen the theme of your website by creating pages that focus more on your keyword phrases. This will optimize the pages for the search engines. It can not only attract traffic but also make them more relevant for the AdWords to be displayed. 5. Site Build It. This is the perfect tool to be used for creating lots of Adsense revenues. Site Build It has all the tools necessary to quickly achieve a keyword-rich site that can rank high in the search engines. This will also produce a flow of traffic to your site of highly targeted visitors.

There are several things that youll need to have in your toolbox when you first start out working on the Internet and at the top of that list is the right hosted exchange product.
These are a necessity if you want to keep all of you mission critical data safe in the web environment and that means that youll need to have a basic understanding of what these applications can do for you. The right exchange hosting will alleviate some of the pressure that comes with going global.
First Things First
Its good to understand why you need to have one of these applications in your arsenal and the best way to do that is to draw a comparison to the safes that some business owners keep in their brick and mortar offices. Now these help by keeping all of the important mission critical secure in a location where the business owner knows that they can get to the information when and if they need it.
In some ways the hosted exchange that youll find on the Internet works in the same manner. These are the applications that act just like those old time safes in that they keep all of the mission critical safe and secure in an off site location where people can get to the information when and if they need it.
Components
There are several components that you need to look at when youre looking at one of these applications at first and foremost you need to have a good look at the security package thats being offered. To start youll want to have a good look at the email security that the place has since thats generally one of the bigger concerns that business has.
And if you can find the best there, you can rest assured that the rest of the package will compliment that. Look for names that are the best in the industry like Postini and youll be assured that youre getting a system that can handle ten times what the competition can process.
Getting the hosted exchange thats right for you is a process whereby youll need to look at several different factors. Remember that there is a need to get an application thats a good fit here and that means that youll need to carefully look through all the different choices that are presented to you to find the best one.

To know why Adsense is essential for your content sites, you must first know how it works.
The concept is really simple. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script into a certain website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script will pull advertisements from the Adsense program. The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.
The search engine is the one handling all the tracking and payments, providing an easy way for webmasters to display content-sensitive and targeted ads without having the hassle to solicit advertisers, collect funds, monitor the clicks and statistics which could be a time-consuming task in itself. It seems that there is never a shortage of advertisers in the program from which the search engine pulls the Adsense ads. Also webmasters are less concerned by the lack of information search engines are providing and are more focused in making cash from these search engines.
The first reason why Adsense is essential for content sites is because it already has come a long way in understanding the needs of publishers and webmasters. Together with its continuous progression is the appearance of more advanced system that allows full ad customization. Webmasters are given the chance to choose from many different types of text ad formats to better complement their website and fit their webpage layout.
The different formatting allows the site owners the possibility of more click throughs from visitors who may or may not be aware of what they are clicking on. It can also appeal to the people visiting thus make them take that next step of looking up what it is all about. This way the people behind the Adsense will get their content read and make profit in the process.
The second reason is the ability of the Adsense publishers to track not only how their sites are progressing but also the earnings based on the webmaster-defined channels. The recent improvements in the search engines provides webmasters the capability to monitor how their ads are performing using customizable reports that has the capacity to detail page impressions, clicks and click-through rates. Webmasters and publishers can now track specific ad formats, colors and pages within a website. Trends are also easily spotted.
With the real-time reporting at hand, the effectiveness of the changes made will be assessed quickly. There would be time to sort out the contents that people are making the most clicks on. The ever-changing demands would be met while generating cash for the webmasters and publishers. The more flexible tools are also allowing webmasters to group web pages by URL, domain, ad type or category, which will provide them some accurate insight on which pages, ads and domains are performing best.
The last and final reason is that the advertisers have realized the benefits associated with having their ads served on targeted websites. Thus increasing the possibility that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in their product and services. All because of the content and its constant maintenance. As opposed to those who are no using Adsense in their sites, they are given the option of having other people do their content for them, giving them the benefit of having successful and money-generating web sites.
Adsense is all about targeted content, the more targeted your content is, the more target the search engines ads will be. There are some web masters and publishers who are focused more on their site contents and how best to maintain them rather than the cash that the ads will generate for them. This is the part where the effectiveness is working its best.
There was a time when people were not yet aware of the money from advertisements. The cash generated only came into existence when the webmasters and publishers realized how they can make Adsense be that generator. In those days, the content was the most important factor taken quite seriously. It still is. With the allure of money, of course.

Many people think they would like to work from home. There are many reasons for this including that it is nice to be able to not have to get in the car or bus every morning and evening to commute to and from work. Staying at home sounds so much more convenient and saves on gas money too.
Not many people think of all the drawbacks of working out of your house. If you do end up working from home, it will mean that you are always at your office. This means that you will need to find good way of distinguishing between your job from your real life. If you don’t find a way to separate the two, you might have trouble with time management. Many people have difficulty with this part of working at home.
Another disadvantage of a home business is the lack of co-workers and a structured work environment. This is extremely difficult for people who thrive on social interactions and this will naturally lead to a more lonely life. People who work at home have to force themselves to get out of the house and mingle with the real world.
Another problem with working out of your house is that you might find it difficult to concentrate on work when you need to. With all the distractions around like the television, radio, refrigerator, and anything else you have at home, it may be a challenge to put those things aside and concentrate on work. Many of us do better in a real work environment where they know they have to work because everyone else is working. This type of person may have a difficult time of transitioning to working from home than they thought they would.
Working from home does not necessarily mean you are self employed and working for yourself and running your own business. More and more real companies are letting their workers work from from their home either full or part time. It is now totally possible to have a job where you work out of your house from one state while working for a company that is in another state. If you are blessed to have this type of job, you will undoubtedly be able to save on gas and any other car related expenses. You might even be able to save on food as you won’t be eating out all the time for lunch.
If you think you have the right temperment you might be able to make a go at working from home. You will need to be self motivated and very good at managing your time. You will need to be able to deal with loneliness and other issues that may crop up unexpectedly. You will need to be able to focus on work when work needs to be done and then put it aside when the home life needs to take over. If you can do all that, working at home may be right for you.

Pay per click allows you to target specific markets by their interests or where they live, making it a great advertising option. Results can be measured with statistics and spending controlled to suit. It’s very much viable for small business owners who might be considering things like television, news print and radio.
Of course, like any other form of advertising, PPC has its pitfalls. Launching your first ad campaign without a good plan could result in hundreds or thousands of dollars in wasted ads while you learn what to do and what not do to. There are whole books on the details of a good pay per click campaign out there.
Starting up is easy enough, anyone can get involved without having to sit down with a manual for a few days. There are a few basic tips, though, for anyone thinking about experimenting with pay per click it’s a good idea to examine them close. The majority of mistakes are really easy to fix so that PPC campaigns can get back on track fast. This is a small list of the most common mistakes people make, and how to fix them.
Mistake 1. Using your home page as a landing page isn’t an effective way to convert clicks to sales. No matter what search engine you’re using, the landing page is the key to making the sale. Deciding where customers are directed, instead of just showing everyone your home page when they click on an ad, is the fastest and best route for the customer. Start sending them to other links and places and they will get lost and return back to the search page, probably to click on one of your competitors ads.
People who click on your ad are looking for something very specific. It was their keyword search that brought them to your ad, so lead them straight to the sale when they click. Landing pages work, they allow you to present your customers with exactly what they’re looking for. Focus your landing pages on keywords you’re using in your advertisements.
Mistake 2. Landing pages that are confusing lose sales. Your PPC campaign will work by giving a customer an ad targeted to their keyword. The landing page they then arrive at should be related to that keyword, so don’t give the customer an excuse to back out. Make it easy for them to find what they are looking for. You should have multiple landing pages if you are promoting multiple items with keywords or phrases.
3. Use of generic ad copy. You don’t have a lot of space to work with when it comes to PPC ads. That means that you can’t use phrases without meaning, such as “quality service”. Even if these statements are true, they don’t help bring in your prospects. Write your ad including specific keywords that potential customers will enter to find you. Use the main keyword in a captivating headline, and follow it up with the biggest benefit you can give your customers. Line three should include special features of the product or service, or an offer/discount. Specific keywords mean more clicks, and more effective clicks.
Mistake 4. Low bid placement usually means low placement on the search page. Search engines use different methods for placing your ad. Yahoo and Google use a system that consists of examining the relevancy of your ad, combined with your bid price. Tightly targeted keywords will get you top placement and this means really crunching statistics and putting lots of thought into your approach. Eighty-five percent of all PPC clicks happen on ads in the top three positions, so it’s worth putting in the effort.

MySpace is a very popular social networking site and now has over one hundred million members! MySpace, like many other social networking websites it allows you to create your own profile, which acts as your own personal web page.
Once your page has been created, you can invite others to become a member of your network and visa versa. As well as having a normal profile page with your personal details, you can also include pictures, video clips, and music. And MySpace is entirely free of charge.
MySpace has literally taken the world by storm. This is because, in what seemed like no time at all, MySpace has grown to become one of the most popular social media websites in all of cyberspace. Particularly popular with music lovers. many bands have developed a following and released music videos through Myspace.
Recent studies have shown that over 50% of the users at MySpace are over the age of 30, so it’s no longer just a place for teens to share pictures and chat about the latest music!
Business people are now using MySpace to build their network of customers and drive traffic to their business websites. A Myspace profile should be a key part of your social media marketing strategy.
The first step to join this online social network is to register for an account. This can be done in literally minutes and is simple to do. Although you can look at MySpace pages without registering, you can’t really be very involved without your own MySpace account.
Your Personal Page
Once you join MySpace, you can create your own profile page. Don’t settle for the ordinary profile page you are first presented with!
You need to change this profile right away so it looks different and complements your business image. Use the profile editor to change the colours, add background images and photos, and fill in your bio information. Then add plenty of good content, including photos and links to your other sites.
To make the experience easier, MySpace has a fairly large collection of profile templates. These templates not only alter the background of your profile page, but the fonts used too. In addition to using the pre-designed templates, you can also create your own, especially if you have basic knowledge of HTML. You can also buy custom layout profiles or hire a professional designer to make you something really unique if you wanted. Try googling for “myspace templates” to get an idea of what you can do.
Don’t forget the MySpace profile is an extension of you in this online community so you want it give a good reason why people would want to know you. Get across your personality and don’t just post loads of spam or business discussions; remember surfers visit MySpace to meet other people so if you appear to be a fake on your page then you won’t get on with this site.
You can (and should!) also post an autoresponder form as part of your profile and offer visitors a freebie for signing up for your newsletter!
After you have designed your own MySpace page, you can easily find other profiles. You can search for others with a wide variety of different keyword phrases. If you are searching for a neighbour, you can look for your town. If you are searching for a person who shares your interest in soccer, you can look for sports fans. Once you have found the MySpace page of someone who you would like to become friends with, you can invite them to join your network. As well as inviting others to join your network, you will usually be asked to join others this is the main attraction of being a member of MySpace.

Basically, blogging was originally invented as online journal where people are able to express their feelings and let other people know about it through the web. Nowadays, blogging is now considered to be one of the most popular ways for people to interact with each other and share their point of view about different kinds of things.
Actually, blogging brings fame and even can let you earn extra cash if you’re good enough.
First of all, you need to know that blogging is all about writing. It’s like writing a novel where you need to get people hooked into reading it. The great thing about blogging is that once people like what they read, they will often refer it to their friends and on and on. This is how you basically earn a fame through blogging.
Once you get loyal readers, you can start earning some cash. Depending on the subject of your blogs, you can become an affiliate marketer where you will include links of affiliate companies in your blogs. You can also earn some money by selling merchandises. For example, you can sell T-shirts, coffee cups, and other stuff.
The key to writing good blogs is by getting people’s attention on the first sentence. Once you get their attention, then the rest of the blog you write should be able to keep them reading. Never go from one subject to another. When writing blogs, you need to be consistent and everything you write should be relevant.
You have to remember that once you get loyal readers, they will keep on demanding more from you. Try to keep your blog site fresh in order for you to keep your readers loyal and excited.
As you can see, blogging brings fame. If you want to be known online, then blogging is the best way to get people’s attention. However, you should always remember that one should write good blogs in order for it to last.
